Cancellation and Refund Policy
At Mandarin Horizon, cancellations, amendments, and refunds are handled in accordance with the applicable tourism laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, and under the regulations of Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China (MCT).
As our journeys are tailor-made, refund arrangements depend on the timing of cancellation and any non-refundable costs already committed to suppliers or service partners.
If a confirmed trip cannot proceed due to force majeure or other unavoidable circumstances, either party may terminate the arrangement in accordance with the applicable rules. In such cases, any refundable balance will be returned after deducting payments already made to suppliers or service providers that cannot be recovered.
For cancellations made within seven days before departure, the standard necessary charges are as follows:
6 to 4 days before departure: 20% of the total travel fee
3 to 1 day before departure: 40% of the total travel fee
On the day of departure: 60% of the total travel fee
If a journey is terminated after it has already begun, cancellation charges will be calculated in accordance with the applicable rules based on the portion of the trip already used. Where actual unrecoverable costs exceed the standard calculation, actual costs may apply, up to the total travel fee.
After cancellation is confirmed and the applicable deductions are determined, refund procedures will generally be completed within 5 working days from the date the cancellation notice is received. Please note that certain peak-season arrangements, hotels, or special bookings may be subject to stricter cancellation conditions, including non-refundable or non-changeable terms. Where applicable, these will be clearly communicated at the time of confirmation.
